Richard is 53 years old and lives in the same town. One day he emailed me asking about “life coaching”. He wanted to know “what is it? How does it work?”
I invite him to come for a complimentary session where we can discuss it in more detail. Since each session of life coaching is personalized for your needs we started by exploring what Richard wanted from life coaching.
There were a few things that were important to him. One. . .He wanted to embrace, accept and take responsibility for his thoughts, feelings and actions. He felt he was creating a wedge in some of his relationships by reacting to situations. The examples he gave were mostly but not limited to his behavior with his teenage son. He was worried about this relationship and his reactions to his son’s behavior.
Another thing Richard mentioned is that one of his hobbies is music and as a musician he wanted to finish writing and record two songs.
As we talked more it turned out that Richard really wanted to find some tools to help him manage his behavior and emotions in all areas of his life.
Richard signed up for a few sessions.
We spent our first official session exploring who Richard is at the core. This is a very important and enlightening step. When you clarify what gives you a sense of purpose it is a tool that can be used to navigate through experiences. What we discovered is that Richard is passionate about living life to the fullest, experiencing everything with an open heart and an inner peace. And he has a knowing that he is connected to everyone and everything.
With that information he was able to move forward very quickly. In three sessions I witnessed a huge transformation. Richard was able to connect with the “harmony” inside him. He quickly discovered why certain things would set him into reacting. That was part of who he is. . that was the passion in him. He was then able to embrace and accept that about himself. Another step he was able to take was to remember to open his heart. That seemed to calm down situations which removed the charge on the things that were setting him off. Life is always evolving and shifting and by learning to stop and check in with himself he discovered that he always has the freedom of choosing his behavior. By making different choices around his way of being Richard began to feel more connected to himself which in turn allows for connection to others. He was now aware that he was making choices to live more in alignment with his true self. This began to affect other relationships and even his tennis game in a positive way. His transformation was so profound I felt honored to witness it.
The outcome of this transformation left Richard feeling lighter and more spacious which has allowed him to progress on his music composition and other projects. Life coaching offers you an opportunity to explore what fulfills you and allows you to “live in harmony”. The feeling of peace and harmony inside is the gift that you get from life coaching which allows you to manifest what you truly desire. Richard has signed on for a few more sessions and I can’t wait to see what he does next.
