Happy spring! As spring has just recently arrived, we’re all feeling the changes in the air. It’s a great time to think about your life and “changing it up”.
It’s fun to change it up! No matter what your routine is, it’s always energizing when you do something different or when you do what you do differently.
I remember when my kids were little and my mother-in-law, at the time, was watching a talk show on TV. On the show there was a woman who had five children. She was complaining about all the work and responsibilities of raising that many kids and that her mom and mother-in-law weren’t helping enough. My mother-in-law commented that she shouldn’t have had all those kids if it was too much for her. Even back then I was thinking, it wasn’t that she didn’t want to have or take care of all her kids, it was that she needed breaks. We all need breaks from our day to day commitments, no matter what our responsibilities are.
When you take a break and change things up it’s refreshing. It can amplify your energy and clear your mind. It’s always important to focus on taking care of yourself and this can be another great tool for you.
You can make small changes. For example, take a different route to work, instead of buying lunch pack yourself a lunch, talk to someone you’ve never talked to before. There are endless ways to make small changes in your life.
Anytime you’re feeling some stuck energy, a change of scenery is a great way to get your energy flowing. It can be a drive somewhere, a day somewhere, a weekend somewhere or a full blown vacation. Whatever works for you! Why not think big!
One really important thing to always have in your life is fun. First, of course, you need to know what fun is for you.
I know sometimes you’re so busy that you don’t want to plan anything. It might feel like too much. Maybe sometimes it is, but other times it can transform that tired energy into exciting energy. It’s fun to have something you love to look forward to.
Something that I’ve done is put time aside to have a date with myself. And in that time I check in and say to myself, “what do I feel like doing now”? It doesn’t have to be planned. Sometimes that’s the best for me. Just some time to do whatever I feel like doing in that moment.
I hope you take this idea of changing it up and tailor it to how it would work best for you.
Please feel free to do something different by passing along this email to someone who you know would love to receive it.
